Driving to Campus & Parking

The closest parking area to our lab is UVic Parking Lot 4, located beside Centennial Stadium. Parking is available for a fee ($2.50/hour) and can be paid for at the parking pay stations in the lot or through the HonkMobile app. Once you arrive at the lab, we will reimburse your parking costs. The easiest way to access Parking Lot 4 is from McKenzie Avenue. If you are approaching campus via McKenzie Avenue, turn onto McGill Road, then turn left into Parking Lot 4. If you are arriving from another direction, follow signs to the University of Victoria and make your way toward the northeastern side of campus, near Centennial Stadium. Once on campus, follow Ring Road and look for signs directing you to Parking Lot 4; the entrance to the lot is just past the sign for the Michael Williams Building. Because several parking lots are located close together, we recommend using Centennial Stadium as your main landmark. Parking Lot 4 is directly beside the stadium and is the closest parking lot to the Cornett Building and the Child Development Lab.

To make finding the lab easier, a research assistant will meet you at the corner of Parking Lot 4 beginning 5 minutes before your appointment and walk with you to the Child Development Lab. The Cornett Building is a short walk from Parking Lot 4 and is marked with exterior signage. The easiest way to access the Child Development Lab is through the north-facing entrance, directly across from the David Strong Building (see the Lab Entrance section below). If you have any difficulty finding the parking lot or meeting point, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are happy to help and look forward to seeing you soon.

Transit Directions

Bus schedules and route information can be found through BC Transit. Most buses serving UVic stop at the UVic Exchange, the main bus loop located near the centre of campus. After exiting your bus at the UVic Exchange, face Ring Road and turn right at the campus bookstore. Continue toward the academic buildings, cross the road, and walk past the Jamie Cassels Centre. The walk from the UVic Exchange to the Cornett Building takes approximately 10–15 minutes. As you approach the Cornett Building, look for the north-facing entrance, directly across from the David Strong Building. This is the easiest entrance for accessing the Child Development Lab (see the Lab Entrance section below).
